 Thirst snowboards are designed
 and constructed like no other

tHe core of a snowboard is the MAIN and ULTIMATE component, it IS what determines flex, stiffness and durability.
Thirst is the only company that takes advantage of truly engineering the core of a snowboard.
Mark, the founder of Thirst, has been developing and building snowboards with a different construction concept since 1980.
Thirst Snowboards Is always Driving Forward with new innovations and designs.
WARP shape, PFi's, Ex-El sidecut, ac-scr/c, Rc3t profile, Qi core, Flex index,
Other manufacturers core construction is from the same basis.
Their wood core is sliced from a core block and profiled.  This profiling is called parabolic sweep and gives the board the change in thickness from the tip, waist and tail of the board.  To this profiled core blank additional materials are added.

Thirst snowboards does NOT follow this remedial and antiquated construction method.
a Thirst core is quintuple averaged to give it as close to an engineered material as is possible.
all coRe materials are haNd-selected and constrUcted in-house.
COre construction is tuned to the customer to provide proper flex and torsional stiffness
Thirst cores are constructed with 35+ components not counting core blank/blanks or inserts.  We build for strength and proper flex.

ThIrst snowboards offer a refinement unavailable anywhere else. The core of your board will be tuned to your weight and riding style.  It won't Be retrieved from a computer or built from a cookie-cutter pattern.

We make one board at a time for the person who ordered it.

Thirst snowboard side-cut curve is called ex-el.
The side-cut cannot be defined as a true radius arc, is more refined than a blended radius and is designed to work with the flex dynamic of the snowboard.
ex-el side-cut provided full length effective edge contact.
This side-cut design has proven to allow the stiffness of a board to be less of a concern in rider weight.  During demo testing we have experienced riders commenting on how well the board holds an edge, is forgiving and fun to ride in all conditions.  These demo riders have had weight differential of more than 50lbs., height differences of more than a foot and stance widths of 4" and style or abilities that are very different.  and all while riding the same board.

in the past few years Thirst has reconsidered sidecut description in more than a measure of radius.
average comparative-side cut radius/condensed or
ac-scr/c
is a measurement made of the sidecut section height,
and furthermore the "C" is a condensed measurement that is made to provide a
"what the boards turning radius feels like to ride"
when comparing to a pure radius measurement in meters.

All Thirst snowboards are constructed with full wrap metal  edges.
an additional feature in shape is rc3trc3t is reverse camber tip and tail transition.  rc3t helps to relieve tip and tail pressure in other than carving situations for easier side-slipping.

SPecial care is taken when designing this feature
to ensure that full edge contact is maintained during edge set carving.

Ask thirst about Flex-index.  a reverse engineer-able quantifiable method to measure the stiffness of a board.  All thirst snowboards are flex indexed after completion.
